Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you take small projects, or only whole homes?
Both. Many clients start with a single room — a living room refresh, a dining room, a nursery — and grow from there. The consultation works the same either way.
What does “general contracting” mean on your projects?
It means the person who designed your space also runs the work: scheduling the trades, ordering and tracking materials, checking the job against the approved plan and keeping you updated. You get one point of contact instead of refereeing between a designer and a builder. Chateau Concepts is registered with the City of Dallas and carries general liability insurance.
What styles do you work in?
Traditional, Eclectic, Contemporary, Old World, Mid-Century Modern, Rustic, Mediterranean, Retro — and happily “just plain funky.” The style that matters is yours; Jan’s job is translating it.
Can you work with a contractor I already have?
Yes. Jan regularly collaborates with clients’ own contractors, and she also maintains trusted workrooms, fabricators and installers built up since 1997. Design-only engagements are welcome.
What does a consultation cost?
Get in touch and we’ll walk you through how consultations and project fees work for your scope — no surprises, everything agreed before work begins.
