The short version
This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics or tracking, and shows no advertising. Nothing about your visit is recorded by us beyond the standard access logs every web server keeps.
The only information we receive is what you choose to send us: the contact form, an email, or a phone call. We use it to reply to you and to run your project. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone who is not working on your project.
What we collect
If you use the contact form
The form asks for your name, email address, phone number (optional), project type and whatever you write in the message box. That is all it asks for and all it sends.
The form is delivered by a third-party service, FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), which passes the message to Jan’s email address. Your message therefore travels through FormSubmit’s systems on the way to us. If you would rather not use a third-party service, email Jan directly or call 214-797-4657 instead — both reach the same place.
If you become a client
Running a design or construction project means we hold ordinary business information: your address, the details of your home, measurements, photographs of the spaces we are working on, correspondence, and billing records. Photographs of finished work are only published with your permission.
Automatically, by the web server
Like every website, this one is served by a web host that keeps standard access logs — typically the requesting IP address, the page requested, the time, and the browser’s user-agent string. These logs exist for security and troubleshooting. We do not use them to build any profile of you, and we do not connect them to anything else.
What we do not do
- No cookies. This site does not set any cookie, of any kind, first-party or third-party.
- No analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no heatmap or session-recording tool.
- No advertising or retargeting. Nothing here follows you to other websites.
- No third-party fonts or embeds. The site loads its own files only, so no external service is told that you visited.
- No selling or renting of personal information. Ever, to anyone.
- No newsletter list. You will not be added to a mailing list for getting in touch.
How we use what you send
- To reply to your enquiry.
- To prepare a proposal, and to design and manage your project.
- To order materials and coordinate the trades, vendors and workrooms your project needs.
- To invoice you and keep the business records we are required to keep.
We do not use your information for anything else without asking you first.
Who else sees it
Only the people who need it to do the work:
- FormSubmit, for delivering contact-form messages.
- Our web host, which stores the site and its server logs.
- Our email provider, because your message arrives as an email.
- Vendors, workrooms, fabricators and trades on your project — and only the details they need, such as a delivery address or a measurement.
- Our accountant, for billing records.
We will also disclose information if the law requires it. Nothing is shared with data brokers, advertisers, or anyone paying for access to it, because there is no such arrangement.
Links to other sites
This site links to a small number of external sites — for example Houzz and ASID. Once you follow a link you are on someone else’s website, under their privacy policy, not ours. The same applies to the Google Business Profile listing where our reviews are published.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become projects are kept for a reasonable period in case you come back, then deleted. Project records are kept for as long as we have a business reason to hold them — warranty questions, later phases of the same house, and the records tax and accounting rules require us to keep. If you want your information deleted sooner, ask, and we will delete whatever we are not obliged to retain.
Your choices
Write to jan@chateauconcepts.com and we will, within a reasonable time and at no charge:
- Tell you what information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete what we are not legally required to keep.
- Stop contacting you.
You do not need to give a reason, and asking will not affect how we treat you.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. We take reasonable care with the information you send us and keep it to the people who need it. No method of transmitting information over the internet is completely secure, so please do not send anything highly sensitive — payment card numbers, government identification numbers — through the contact form or by email.
Children
This site is aimed at homeowners and businesses, not children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If what we do changes — for example if analytics are ever added to this site — this page will be updated before the change goes live, and the date at the top will change with it.
